What's Planned for Ghettogether 2003

Below is a tentative, but fairly solid, itinerary of the planned events for the 2003 Ghettogether weekend, June 19-22. NOTICE: This information is subject to change. We hope to see you there ... we had a BLAST last year!

DAILY ITINERARY

June 19, Thursday:

9 a.m. - 5 p.m., Incoming Registration: Committee members will be on hand in the reunion hospitality room at the Crystal City Doubletree Hotel to welcome you and answer any questions you may have at the time. Upon checking in, the front desk clerk will tell you which room is designated as the SAHS Ghettogether Reunion hospitality room.

6 p.m. - 10 p.m., Ice Breaker: Continuing tradition, the Champps Americana Restaurant at Pentagon Row will be where we gather for the ice breaker. Those wishing to attend should meet in the hotel's upstairs/concierge lobby at 5:45 p.m.

10 p.m. - 12 a.m., Hotel Bar Social: For those wishing to, come and join us in the hotel's upstairs/concierge lobby bar for a few hours to reminiscing.

June 20, Friday:

8 a.m. - 5 p.m., D.C. Tours: We will meet in the hotel's upstairs/concierge lobby at 7:30 - 7:45 a.m. to head out for a day of sight-seeing in the nation's capital. The list of landmarks for you to visit is an endless one, but we will do our very best to see as much as we can in the alloted time. Our means of transportation will be the MetroRail and MetroBus - both are very clean and reliable. The nearest MetroRail station is two blocks from the hotel. Make sure you have plenty of water, comfortable shoes, camera, sunscreen, and food.

8 p.m. - 12 a.m., Karaoke: At this time, we have numerous karaoke bars we're looking at to include, Champps Americana/Arlington, Siam 185/Arlington, Cafe Japone/D.C., Capital City Brewing Co./Arlington, Lulu’s/D.C., or Jay’s Saloon & Grille/Arlington. This should be finalized by the time of your check-in and will appear on your itinerary then.

June 21, Saturday:

11 a.m. - 5 p.m., Ghettogether Picnic: This "world-famous" reunion picnic will take place at historic, Geisboro Park Pavilion #2, located on Bolling Air Force Base, D.C. The day will be filled with fun, food, frolicking and OLD friends! Not to mention sports, fun activities, photos, and BEER! You also won't want to miss "Speedy's State O'-The-Stallion" address and welcome speech! Who will win this year's Ghettogether Kickball championship, the "reds" or "whites"?

8 p.m. - 1 a.m., Evening Social: Windows Over Washington located in the hotel will again be blessed with another Stallion school dance and social. Join us for a variety of music, food, fun, fotos (photos) and more! Then, join everyone in the hotel's rotating bar or Rick Ray's room for the after party. *We are still seeking to find babysitters for the evening for a fee. More to come on this in the near future.

June 22, Sunday:

10:00 a.m. - 12 p.m., Sunday Brunch/Goodbyes: Join us in the Doubletree Restaurant/Meeting Room for brunch and say goodbye and farewell to those leaving. Surveys and feedback forms will be provided for your comments and critiques.

12 p.m., You're On Your Own ... hope you had the time of your life!
